Dirty Deals (Commercial)

"Dirty Deals", an animated short developed by me and my amazing team of fellow animators during my time at CSU Chico. This satirical commercial features a shady salesman trying to sell cars at his equally shady dealership—full of surprises! We created this project as part of an advanced production course at Chico State Studios, designed to introduce seniors and upcoming graduates to the animation pipeline. 

Unlike my usual animation work, which focuses on creating movement, my role as the environmental lead required a deep dive into design. Working with Unreal Engine, I designed the entire environment through modeling and collecting assets that fit the stylistic aesthetic we envisioned. Along the way, I also picked up valuable skills in cinematography, lighting, scene composition and even Unreal Engine sequence development. As a bonus, I even voice-acted for the shady salesman character—an aspect of animation I’m excited to explore further!  

The production was not so smooth and easy, as we faced multiple problems with the cleaning of motion capture data and rigging complications. Despite the technical challenges we faced, my team and I pushed through and created a project we’re incredibly proud of. I hope you enjoy "Dirty Deals" as much as we do!
